Summary:
The Sr. User Interface Designer will support the Digital Site Experience and Digital Design at AutoZone Inc. They will interact and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of digital designers, researchers, engineers, content strategists and product managers throughout the design process. Candidates must be able to take interpret creative briefs from cross-departmental teams and transform concepts into intuitive, accessible, and easy-to-use designs. Must be able to collaborate throughout the design process, produce campaign assets, create user flows and wireframes, and build user interface mockups and prototypes. Candidates should be comfortable leading and solving digital design challenges and anticipate what our users need and advocate for them. Experience with enterprise eCommerce solutions a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and create innovative design concepts for homepage, landing pages, product detail pages, promotional and informational experiences on AutoZone.com
- Use industry best practices to enhance website design and functionality, product positioning, research, infographics, and leverage digital marketing strategies in effective campaigns and designs
- Work with the Digital Site Experience leadership and the Digital Design team to translate marketing requirements into compelling onsite experiences
- Design user interface and optimized production ready assets for period promotions, landing pages, marketing campaigns, and other web site graphics as needed
- Collaborate with stakeholders to provide design solutions from wireframes to high fidelity comps across multiple platforms and tools using industry best practices
- Create, improve, and use design system, wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows to effectively communicate user interaction ideas with any of the above methods
- Have a strong artistic eye for design and the ability to think creatively while maintaining accuracy with a strong attention to detail
- Work closely with the marketing and product teams to design engaging interfaces across multiple devices and platforms (i.e. responsive web sites, mobile apps, etc.)
- Manage and produce digital design work, including banner sizing and versioning across platforms
- Demonstrate strong ability to use design thinking to solve user experience problems through design while being a self-starter with a positive attitude and enthusiasm for hard work
- Solicit feedback, lead, and participate in peer design reviews and critiques to influence the direction of design deliverables for various projects and campaigns
- Work closely with project teams during design and development phases to ensure Digital Site Experience goals and project deadlines are met
- Ensure consistency of brand and creative across digital assets and customer touchpoints
- Leads the development lifecycle of a variety of digital design projects and planning sessions
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Graphic Design, Communications, Design, Marketing, or Computer Science
- Minimum of 4 - 6 years of experience in web design & web development technologies
- Must include a portfolio of work demonstrating mastery in creating effective user-centered design solutions, experience designing responsive user interfaces and web designs creativity and user centered design solutions. Please be able to discuss how you were involved in those portfolio examples
- Strong design chops with exposure to design systems and patterns
- Translate wireframes into high-quality, user interface designs
- Strong knowledge of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Sketch
- Strong knowledge of prototyping and collaboration tools Zeplin, Figma etc.
- Solid understanding of responsive web design
- Fundamental understanding of the technologies involved in web promotion development and design
- Ability to provide design recommendations by keeping up to date with emerging technologies and latest design trends, best-practices, and competitive activity
- Resourceful, self-starter who is collaborative, inclusive and a flexible team member and partner with experience working with agile teams and cross functional teams
- Ability to efficiently diagnose issues and ability to solve complex problems efficiently, and creatively.\
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Excellent communication, presentation and analytical skills including the ability to communicate design concepts clearly and persuasively across various audiences. Design concepts should be based on overall design roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental principles
Preferred Skills, but Not Required:
- Coding experience can be an advantage but is not required
- Product and campaign photography design
- Knowledge of information architecture
- Bilingual
- Knowledge of SEO
- Experience managing others, direct & indirect, including agency management
